Entry into Russia, including through land borders, is restricted for some foreign travellers, including Australians. Residents, close family members of Russian citizens and residents, members of diplomatic missions, essential workers and some other categories of travellers may be allowed to enter. Foreign citizens allowed to enter Russia for work purposes or who intend to stay over 90 calendar days may be subject to biometric fingerprinting and regular medical check-ups. COVID-19 cases continue to rise, reaching record levels. Some regions have introduced stricter measures with QR codes required in public venues and on public transport.
