Community transmission of COVID-19, including the Omicron variant is on the rise in Portugal. Additional restrictions have been introduced to curb the spread. Travellers aged 12 and over must have a negative COVID-19 PCR or TRAg test before entering Portugal. People aged 12 years and over must show a valid COVID-19 test or recognised COVID-19 vaccination certificate to enter certain venues, including hotels and restaurants. Australian COVID-19 vaccination certificates aren’t officially recognised for entry into venues. You may need to undertake periodic tests if travelling in Portugal.
